Well we’ve made it kids…to the last and final race of Formula 1 at the Circuit of the Americas! The Sunday Grand Prix race day did not disappoint in the least – to the surprise of no one. And to top it off, it was almost the nicest of the three days – a few clouds to cut the heat and a nice breeze.
The Porsche race was up first with plenty of excitement on deck. Oh and any of the amazing photos below – those are from my sis Melissa!
Before the race began, they brought the drivers around the track in full Texas style – on a big ass truck. They also had a super talented local school’s band who performed on the track. Right before the drivers took off, huge military planes flew overhead – always a spectacular sight!
Before you know it they were off! Here’s a quick video from the first lap.
And then just more and more photos, military plans in flight as well as some stellar views from the day.
The race flies by (pun intended) – and before you know it, the weekend is over. We spent a good amount of time laying on the lawn after it was all said and done, full of laughter and smiles as the sun set across the sky.
Sigh. Take me back. Austin, you were a blast and I can’t wait to visit again!
