Well, to clarify, any day is good for SUP. Stand up paddleboarding, or SUP, is kinda one of my favorite activities, but the only problem with that statement is: I really don’t do it nearly enough. If only I was strong enough to lift a board on top of my car. Le sigh.
This past Sunday, the girls and I (rallied by Julie, per usual – thank you girl) ventured a couple miles from my place to Kraft Azalea Garden for an afternoon paddle. You may remember a few months ago when I ventured out to Disappearing Island with LayZboards? Yep – same group! Emily is the owner and also happens to be a super rad chick (this girl is opening a restaurant too – I mean what can’t she do?).
Anyway, back to the paddle. We ventured out around 3pm after carrying the boards, paddles, life jackets, and most importantly, beverages, down to the water. Each of us launched into the lake and headed to a small island where we camped out, drank, and told stories…oh and laughed until we realized it was getting dark right before our eyes.
But paddling back when the sun was going down wasn’t so bad – I mean, you can’t beat that sunset. No filter, no nothing. Florida, I heart you.
Until next time!
