Last week was a lengthy one. It started with a mixture of emotions – sadness as well as hope – all mixed together, put on display for my beautiful town on Orlando United Day. The days were slow and the nights were restless. By the end, I welcomed the weekend with open arms. A time to reflect and relax. And I’m not gonna lie, it was a weird weekend of ups and downs. From laughs (go see “Rough Night” + some wine – hilarious)…to weird moments of uncertainty, I am glad for Monday being a new day to a new week. Even if I’m exhausted after staying up past my bedtime at yet another concert (can’t stop, won’t stop).
With all the kind words from my post last week, I want to thank you all! It was an emotional day from start to finish. Last year, I was unable to attend any of the heartfelt moments all around the city as I had to leave town for a trip. This year, I was determined to be a part of it.
I promise I won’t go on and on about all the heartbreak in the days to come, I just wanted to share some photos from Pulse, one year later, as well as the memorials in downtown Orlando. It was a rainy day – fitting for the mood. I visited Pulse, then downtown around Lake Eola, then back to Pulse for a ceremony. I’ll let these photos speak for themselves. Thank you to Ryan for spending the evening with me. Orlando: you are my home, and you have my heart always.
We will not let hate win. We are Orlando Strong.
