A day at Maker’s Mark. That has been on my list for ages. And we finally made it there! The reason I waited so long? Because it’s an hour and a half away from home in KY. Silly right? Well, we said: no excuses, play like a champion – it’s time for some bourbon. JB and I even dragged my mom there (who was reluctant to go, but later said she had a blast, of course). A good time was had by all. Here is a photo bomb for your viewing pleasure.
And the best part? I dipped my own bottle! We couldn’t see them hand dipping the bottles on the line (that only runs Monday-Friday) but I made up for it by purchasing my own signed bottle and dipping it in the hot red wax. Only downside? I can’t take it home until I visit over Christmas and can drive it home. Stupid airline liquid restrictions. I also signed up for the ambassador program where I have to practice patience. Put my name on a barrel and wait 6 long years to come back to MM and then purchase two bottles of my batch – complete with a cool personalized label. Oh I signed up for that straight away. See you in 6 years, you beautiful bourbon, you.
