This weekend marks a bit of a first for me. I call it: a departure from my comfort zone. As I sit here, sand between my toes, I have a chance to reflect. You see, I set aside a few days to leave town, bask in the sunshine on the beach, and do a bit of writing. Did I take anyone? No. Did I tell anyone? Not many. This was my time. Just call me Hemingway.
I jokingly say that as I am writing…at the beach. You’re picking up what I’m putting down. And by the time you read this, I’ll have gotten inordinately sloshed at a local bar at least once. I mean, I must act the part, right?
A few weeks ago, during another stressful week, I decided to book a weekend away. A Saturday-Monday, just two nights of freedom. I had to get out and escape the routine of it all. Remember last week when I said I loathe planning? Don’t worry, the only thing I planned was a place to rest my head.
I’m only writing this on my first day, and there’s still much to do. And you’re reading this as I am making my way home. But I’m already quite at peace. Minus the minions living beside me…aka children…blah. I am a block from the ocean and couldn’t be happier.
^^rose gold sunglasses were only $10! you need them in your life.
Don’t worry, I’ll have a full recap coming soon…from the places I ate and the nice cottage where I’m staying. Where am I you ask? If you already follow me on Insta, you already know. But it’s Siesta Key. What a pretty place!
Catch ya in a few days for more recap fun. Moral of my quick story today = take time for yourself. I promise you won’t regret it.
