Happy Friday my little daisies! It’s really been one of those weeks. Just yesterday, I was saying how long it was taking to get to Friday and now we’re finally here. Now only if this rain would just stop already.
I thought it would be nice to end the week on a high note – with a little craft project. Laurie and I always try to make something when I come to visit…and it has to be a piece I can carry in my luggage home. We started on a hoop and yarn style project, which is still unfinished (curse you, time). We also had ourselves a little tie dye moment. When’s the last time you made tie dye anything? Exactly.
First of all, get a kit. It’s so much easier. You get the soda ash, the color, and you get the instructions.
Then just sort it all out. Soak the shirts in the soda ash then add water to the color and shake shake shake. Ohhhh we’re getting fancy now.
Time to get creative. There were a bazillion choices of designs we could have gone with, but we decided on a classic spiral in the middle. Why not, right?
Gloves all the time – remember that one. Soda ash and ink and kids (kidding) oh my.
^^this one cracks me up. Between David and Letty. Ha!
Paint, throw in a ziplock for 12ish hours, rinse then wash. Bada boom. They turned out really cute, right? Mine is blue, purple, and red and Laur’s is blue and purple. So us. Not pictured = Letty’s adorable rainbow shirt. You can see a peak in the bag below.
And that’s all she wrote. I hope you have a great weekend! Thank you Laurie and fam for an amazing visit yet again. Is it too soon to count down to my next visit?
