I know what you’re thinking. The combo of strawberries, lemon and bourbon is the best thing ever. And I’m here to tell you that statement is correct. I recently found a recipe for a strawberry bourbon lemonade and had to try – and subsequently share with ya’ll because I’m sweet like that. Pun intended.
First, the ingredients. This will make two large-ass drinks for you.
6 ounces bourbon
6 strawberries, pureed in a blender
juice of 2 lemons
1 tablespoon maple syrup
4 dashes of Peychaud’s bitters
dash of McCormick cinnamon
club soda or prosecco, for topping off
slices strawberries, for garnish
Now the easier-than-Ikea instructions.
Add your bourbon, pureed strawberries, lemon juice, maple syrup, bitters, and cinnamon to a cocktail shaker and fill it with ice. Make sure you have a bigger shaker than mine because all that fit in mine was bourbon. Sigh. Shake for 10 seconds, then strain through a mesh strainer into yo glass. Top off with club soda or prosecco and garnish with a strawberry. If you’re fancy.
Well that was fun. I did a couple things wrong in this process. I only squeezed one lemon. Who does that? Also I realized I don’t have a strainer so I just didn’t do that step. Whatever. Maybe I got some fiber or something. BUT I will tell you that it still tasted delish.
Have any fun drink recipes for me to try? Or have a fav liquor and not sure what to make? I’ll find a fun cocktail to share.
