How is it Monday already? Holidays are such a whirlwind…I feel like it was just Halloween. But now, I’m home and back to the grind for your recapping pleasure.
Who doesn’t love a southern Thanksgiving?
Wednesday was an early release day from
school work so the girls and I took full advantage by going out for a few adult beverages. I told them I couldn’t stay out late as I had to drive the seven hours to another state in the morning but alas – time flies when you’re having fun.
Thursday. Good god. I didn’t even have a crazy night on Wednesday – but thinking that 4am was an acceptable time to wake up was just poor planning on my part. But I wanted to get to the parents as soon as possible, as I was traveling on the actual holiday. Let’s fast forward to Alabama. Side note: coffee is a lifesaver and wine upon arrival is even better. Just kidding – I waited a few hours for that.
That’s a Christmas bat in case you didn’t know.
See that shirt? We stood in line at Target at 6pm on Thanksgiving for that. Well not for that actual shirt – let’s be clear. I am pretty sure my parents thought my day wasn’t quite long enough – so let’s stand in line at Target on Turkey Day, they said. To be honest, this line below looks worse than it was. It went quickly and most people were after TVs while we were there for clothes and DVDs.
Since this is getting long, I’ll show you the rest of Alabama in another post. Did anyone whip out the sweatpants on Thanksgiving? Or brave the shopping insanity? Hope you all had a great holiday!
