…Is it, though? I mean I’m totally watching Bachelor in Paradise right now and well, it brings a whole new meaning to “true love exists.” << ha
It really doesn’t, let’s be real. I mean I watch these shows (the whole Bachelor franchise, if I’m being honest) – but I know it’s not really about l.o.v.e. There’s entertainment! Drama! Intrigue! Oh and a lot of crying. Deep down, maybe I have a 1.3% slice of hope in my heart that one of these crazy fame-whore obsessed kids will find love, but that’s the optimist in me. (I spoke too soon, one dude just expressed that he wanted to explore another contestant’s “sexual chakra” – I can’t. I just. can’t.)
But really, something much more depressing prompted this post today – the breakup of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale after 13 years together. Can we just take a moment and re-read that? GWEN AND GAVIN. No, I can’t believe it either. [Insert moment of silence here.] These two are not only fashion royalty, but beautiful pieces of rock talent all rolled into one deliciously hot couple. Sigh. Not anymore.
I know. I know.
It’s been a summer of sadness for this pop culture girl right here. Pamela and I were just going over this. I mean – Ben and Jen, then Blake and Miranda – when will the madness end!? And when will we all learn that “hot nannies” are never two words that should go together? (Side eye, Ben)
At the end of the day, I guess we can’t all be surprised. While they aren’t “just like us,” in most ways, celebrities have to fight at this thing called love, too. And you can’t fault them for trying. We all want love, right?
Now please bear with me as I go listen to Bush and No Doubt, then Amazon Prime a poster from each of those bands, circa 1995.
*Bonus side note – the title of this blog post is from what romantic comedy? (Pretty sure Laur is the only one who knows this)
