I sometimes have a minor obsession with health and fitness. I’ll go in spurts where I go crazy borderline vegan (except I can’t rule out my beloved eggs and sushi…oh sushi) and clean eating – feeling great and regretting nothing. I’ll slip up here and there but am generally one to make good decisions to try to keep myself healthy and (semi/kinda/hopefully/who am I kidding, not really) kinda fit. Minus that wine. And bourbon. I promise I drink in moderation. Ha.
Growing up, I had a love affair for cucumber sandwiches and green peppers as a snack. And plain Cheerios, hard-boiled eggs and hot dogs were other favs (by favs- this was my diet). We’re talking, I was a picky toddler here. Ever since, I’ve been addicted to anything vegetable and fruit (we’ll ignore the Cheerios and hot dogs phase). Which is lucky for me, since those things are très good for you! Now, I’m quite the foodie. T and I go out and explore the hottest, most unique new restaurants in town and while traveling. Doesn’t get much more fun than that!
I feel like while I’ve educated myself to the max (but never enough in my book), I’m always looking for new perspectives and unique inputs on living a healthier and better life. I’ll watch some documentaries (Hungry for Change and Forks over Knives – highly recommend both!) and read some books (The Kind Diet and Skinny Bitch – love), but am always looking for great new suggestions on living a more fulfilled and happy life. I’ll save working out and fitness for another post. That is always a work in progress.
What ways have you tried to improve your diet and live a better life? Have any docu’s to recommend?
PS – We drank all of that sangria pictured below. Twas a fun day.
