It’s funny, here am I sitting in my happy music place assuming everyone knows who Blues Traveler is. And nope, this is not true. While I’m in denial that people younger than me don’t know all 90s bands, it was a bigger shock to realize I was quite frankly the youngest person at this very concert on Saturday night. Ha.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Should I recap some weekend notes, and link up with B? I think yes.
On Friday, I met up with my crew for our annual Fifty Shades viewing. This tradition is going to be missed. Good convo, wine, and funny movies? Le sigh. Also: so much has changed in the last 3 years! Oh my.
I sat in traffic and got used to my new hair which I’m mildly obsessed with.
I went to the aforementioned concert of Blues Traveler (with an opener of Los Colognes which we jokingly called cohones). My concert fam of Dawn, Julie, and David are all ready for Jazz Fest this spring!
^^I love blurry selfies at concerts
Real talk though? The band annoyed the shit out of me. John (singer) kept leaving the stage after one song or two, the stage dude would come back and refill his solo cups he had on that little table beside him. And this guy with the guitar? When he wasn’t enjoying the fan blowing his hair and waving at the crowd he was behind the amps vaping. A lot. It was weird. And there wasn’t a lot of singing.
Sometimes a band kinda lets you down. While they SOUNDED great, they were kinda lame. I will admit I didn’t stay to the end and I was quite alright with that. But all in all, it was a fun night with great friends. My concert buds for life!
And with that positive note, ha…I’ll say adieu. Happy week!
