First and foremost, why do we not have off work today? It was a holiday weekend, no? Oh well. It’s Monday and the gang’s all here. Know what else is common for a Monday? The beginning of diets all around the land. Which boggles my mind just a little. I mean Mondays are tough enough – why start torturing yourself with a diet on this day?
I mentioned last week that I was on the path of eating healthy whole foods (not a diet, a lifestyle change). I’m also tired of just feeling like shit in a bathing suit. Let’s clear that up. That may be the main reason. I had a stellar first week and actually feel amazing. Also lost approximately 4 pounds (I guessed my starting weight because I was too afraid to weigh myself – ya’ll know what I’m talking about). Four pounds is kinda awesome and now I have that extra incentive to keep going. What am I doing?
For a month, to start…I’m cutting out sugar (minus alcohol, this biotch needs her wine), dairy (already can’t eat that) and grains/wheat. What have I noticed so far? I’m pretty sure I had wheat belly. Don’t know what that is? Here’s some help. Also, I feel freakin awesome. Energy galore. I’m making sure I eat plenty of whole, non-processed foods while making each meal a mix of protein, veg and fat. Clearly not equal parts, but you get the picture.

Fine print: I will say repeatedly that I am by no means an expert, but I do get slightly obsessed with learning about what is good for my bod. So, on the rare occasion I think I can spout off some things I feel pretty confident about.
