Raise your hand if you love coffee. How about iced coffee? Pick me! Well today, I have great news – I’m going to share my fav cold brew recipe.
- coarsely ground coffee (coarser the better)
- almond milk (for iced coffee)
- tumeric (for iced coffee)
- pumpkin pie spice (for iced coffee)
- measuring cups
- filter (any coffee filter works)
Cold brew is so simple to make. It’s a common misconception that it’s made by brewing coffee (heated) and then cooling it in the fridge. But not true, my friends. It’s made by “brewing” overnight, no heat or refrigeration needed.
I take 3 cups of room temperature water to 3/4 cup coffee and stir together before sitting on the counter, covered. This sits for 12 hours at least. This is where the “brewing” happens.
The next day, run it through the strainer (which will be lined with the filter) and voila! Cold brew. I throw it in the fridge to make some delicious iced coffee in the morning. This recipe is from one of my fav bloggers, Lauryn from the Skinny Confidential. That girl knows her stuff. So why not share with you guys?
Fill your cup with ice, then pour your cold brew in halfway. Or a little more if you’re feeling ambitious. Then fill the rest with almond milk. I love unsweetened vanilla myself.
Then top it off with a lot of tumeric and pumpkin pie spice, because yum. Tumeric is an anti-inflammatory and well, delicious. Stir and enjoy!
