Alert the presses! I’m back, kiddos! I will warn you – this is a long post. I’m here to link up with my monthly Wanderlust Wednesdays with Kate and Emily, AND recap the Key West trip I just returned from for the July 4 holiday. Perfect timing, am I right? Tomorrow I’ll be sure to share some snaps of what I’ve been up to since I’ve taken my mini blog break. Sigh, I’ve missed y’all.
So let’s get down to it.
Key West is a magical place. This being my first time, I had an amazing travel companion in Pamela, who as a veteran visitor to this amazing location, was sure to take us around to the best spots. We’ll start with day 1.
We stayed at the lovely Southernmost Point Guest House – a fantastic spot she regulars and I’m definitely determined to go back. I can’t recommend it enough, from the amazing staff, to those comfy hammocks outside, it has it all.
We also stopped at the Southernmost Beach Cafe across the street immediately for a key lime margarita. Order that and you can thank me later.
After some grilling out and laughs, we hit up the The Rum Bar and ordered a rum runner. Definitely get one of those and/or a glass of this rum. It’s fantastic.
The four of us had lunch at The Rum Barrel. Get a wine flight and a Philly cheese steak. They are legit, don’t worry. (The owner is from Philly after all.)
We chartered a boat to go to an amazing spot called Snipes Key. I’ll let the limited amount of photos I took do the talking. Too much fun was being had for much else!
The last day was wrapped up with lunch and key lime pie from THE best place – The Key Lime Pie Company. I seriously haven’t had anything better.
At the end of the weekend, I left with great memories, a wicked sunburn and a bruised toe, knee and ego. Those stories are for another day. Thanks to my friends for making this experience a memorable one!
