After all that Four Roses, it was a little tough to get back to life, but I’m starting to get into the swing of things at this point. This night’s event was titled, “Anatomy Academy with Women & Bourbon.” Hosted by the Bourbon Women Association, this event pushed the ladies against the gents – all in the name of good bourbon.
Held at the historic Louisville Water Tower Park along the Ohio River, we were all amazed with this beautiful setting for the event.
Pulled from the Kentucky Bourbon Affair website:
Research by the Bourbon Women Association’s debunks the notion that women prefer lighter, sweeter and lower proof Bourbon. Turns out, women like higher-proof, robust and spicier Bourbons – and women like it neat.
According to Bourbon Women research, women tend to have better olfactory senses, which make them great mixologists. Men tend to be bolder while concocting cocktails.
The Anatomy Academy will put tongues to the test in a blind tasting to identify more than a dozen Bourbon & Whiskey-related flavors to see whether men or women have the sharper palate.
So taste we did. And I’m not going to lie – it was tough to differentiate! But a fun one for sure. At one point, I saw the sun setting along the river and I of course ran outside to snap a few pictures (and of course some selfies, because me). Ha. I could have sat out there all night. No words.
Question for all my local Orlando ladies – anyone interested in building our very own Orlando chapter of Bourbon Women? I need 25 to set it up but thought I’d take a poll of the group – let me know!
Up next tomorrow? You probably already know if you read the post on Monday! Why Maker’s Mark of course. Stay tuned!
