Naples, Florida was the destination for the weekend. I made a quick getaway from Orlando after 13 hours home for the 3.5 hour drive down south. Luckily I didn’t hit much traffic as I was eager to finally meet baby Gabriella and see my best friend Kim and her hubby Eddie. I brought some toys for Gabby (thank goodness she loved) and as you can see below, she loved my foot tattoo, which she tried to take off and play with. So. cute. That girl. She’s just the happiest little thing ever.
The first night was nice and mellow with dinner prepared by Kim and some attempted relaxation and movie time. I think all the travel caught up to me and we were both in bed early. No complaints here. The next day we were beach bound. It was hot but we headed to the pier to explore/take pics/play in the sand for as long as we could stand it. Then we ran around town a bit, had lunch and hit up Trader Joe’s since I don’t have one yet in Orlando.
Eddie joined us and we went to La Playa hotel for a sunset mojito and some beach time. The views there. I mean. The pictures speak for themselves. Then some yummy sushi to end the perfect day.
Sunday I headed home after a nice long breakfast. Sorry for the lack of pictures of Kim and I. She took all the good ones on her nice camera. You’ll have to settle for crappy iPhone ones until I can update the post with her photos. **Update – new pics below from Kim. Yay!**
And there went my weekend folks. I am saying it right here: I need to see Kim more often. She is so close. No excuses. I know she reads this, so we can hold each other to it. Ha. Thanks for the great hospitality my southern Florida family!
